I Think Today Is Friday -- Issue 259
This week: Pictures of the Blood Worm moon, a recommendation, and a story about a young girl singing the national anthem. Also, a breakfast sandwich, fast food, penguins, and a splashdown.
Pictures of the Week: There’s a moon out tonight…
Unfortunately, heavy clouds prevented me from seeing the Blood Worm moon and total Lunar eclipse this week. Happily, the Internet took pictures.

Unsolicited recommendation: If you are a power user on YouTube like I am, a Premium subscription is worth the money. It removes the ever-present ads before, during, and after each video. Recently, they announced a Lite version for half the price. If you spend a lot of time there, try it.
YouTube has announced bringing its cheaper Premium Lite subscription to the US, Thailand, Germany, and Australia.
News from The Far Side…
By Gary Larson
Sports Desk:
National anthems have been in the news quite a bit lately. Twenty-two years ago, the team coach assisted a young girl who had a problem with the lyrics. This past week, she returned and sang beautifully. The coach, now an assistant with another team, was also at the game.
These look good…
An egg cooked in an egg-size hole cut out of butter-sizzled bread feels like a treat. But it’s not quite enough to make a meal. Here, the classic egg-in-a-nest merges with grilled cheese and a breakfast sandwich into a meal that’s meant to be savored leisurely. It’s as delightful with coffee at the beginning of the day as it is in the middle for lunch or ending it at supper or midnight. The bread slices — one cradling the egg, the other holding cheese — cook at the same time over relatively low heat so that they end up perfectly golden brown while the egg sets and the cheese melts. Add hot sauce, chile powder, or flakes if you’d like a little heat.

Many scholars agree that the American chain White Castle, which started in 1916 as a collection of food stands in Wichita, Kansas, and was formally established in 1921, was the first fast food restaurant.
Many people considered burgers unhealthy and unpleasant. The owners, Anderson and Ingram, wanted to change the public’s perception of White Castle, so they ensured the first one they opened was spotless. Additionally, they made sure that their staff looked professional at all times.

Penguin Manor…
Good etiquette is expected at meal time in the penguin colony, but the diners with the best manners are found on a new, special island for birds of a certain age.
There, geriatric African penguins don’t have to worry about younger birds bombarding the buckets of fish delivered by trainers at the New England Aquarium in Boston.
And finally, a nine-day tour ends…
When NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunni Williams arrived at the International Space Station in June, they expected to spend nine days. But, like the SS Minow, unforeseen issues kept them in space. They returned safely this week and even had a welcome home from a pod of dolphins.
